Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 September 2026

This policy explains what personal data SquadAdda collects, why, how long we keep it and your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). SquadAdda is operated by Rakesh Kumar, India (“we”, “us”).

1. Data we collect

  • Account: email address, username, display name, date of birth, app language, and the login method you used (Google, Discord or email code). We don’t store passwords.
  • Game profile: games, platform, voice-chat languages, play style, usual free time, story progress, and whether you’re looking for a crew.
  • Gamer IDs (PSN, Xbox, Steam or in-game names) you choose to add.
  • Activity: crew requests and messages, LFG posts, play sessions, ratings and tags you give or receive, room messages and help posts, reports and blocks.
  • Parental approval (16–17 year olds): your parent’s or guardian’s email and their decision, including the time and IP address of that decision.
  • Waitlist: the email and optional platform you entered on our landing page.
  • Technical: IP address and basic request data for security and rate limiting, a session cookie that keeps you logged in, a language cookie, and push notification subscriptions if you turn alerts on.

2. Why we use it

  • To run your account and show your profile to other players.
  • To match you with players and share gamer IDs only after both sides accept a match.
  • To calculate Trust Scores and keep the community safe (moderation, reports, blocks, spam limits).
  • To send login codes, parental-approval emails, reminders and alerts you asked for.
  • To meet legal obligations.

We use your data on the basis of your consent, which you give by signing up and can withdraw by deleting your account. We don’t sell personal data and we don’t show ads.

3. Who can see what

  • Public profile: username, display name, games, platform, languages, play style, free time, trust level and top positive tags.
  • Gamer IDs: only players in a match you both accepted.
  • Never shown to other players: your email, date of birth, who gave you a negative rating, and private notes attached to ratings.
  • Moderators: reports, reported content and private notes attached to negative ratings, only to review safety issues.

4. Service providers

We share only what is needed with providers that help us run SquadAdda: Google and Discord (if you log in with them), Resend (sending emails), your browser’s push service (if you enable alerts), and our hosting, database and security providers. Our servers are planned to be in Mumbai, India.

5. How long we keep data

  • Account and profile: until you delete your account.
  • Room chat messages: 90 days, then deleted automatically. Answers to help posts stay while the question is open.
  • If you delete your account, we remove your email, name, date of birth, profile, games, gamer IDs and notifications. Ratings you gave stay only as anonymous numbers so other players’ scores remain correct; any private notes you wrote are deleted.
  • Parental approval requests: if a parent declines or doesn’t respond within 48 hours, the child’s account and data are deleted.
  • Security logs and moderation records may be kept longer where needed to prevent abuse or meet legal duties.

6. Children

SquadAdda is for people aged 16 and above. Players aged 16–17 can use it only after a parent or guardian approves by email. For these accounts we don’t do behavioural tracking or targeted advertising. Games rated 18+ (such as GTA 6 and GTA Online) stay locked for players under 18.

7. Your rights

  • See and correct your data in Settings.
  • Delete your account and data anytime from Settings.
  • Ask for a summary of your data, withdraw consent, or raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (see Contact).
  • Nominate someone to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity, by writing to the Grievance Officer.
  • If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Security

Sessions use secure, http-only cookies; login codes and session IDs are stored only as hashes; access to moderation tools is limited to staff and every staff action is logged. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will inform you and the authorities as required by law.

9. Changes and contact

We will update this page when our practices change and show the new date at the top. For privacy questions or requests, contact our Grievance Officer: Rakesh Kumar, orbitminds9@gmail.com.
